Sarah Binshadler, LICSW
My theory of practice is centered in the foundation that individuals are the experts of their own experience and through transparency and flexibility, I seek to meet people and their needs through relational development and open discussion. I continue to utilize therapeutic approaches that are most mindful of the potential negative impacts associated with institutionalized models of care. I hope to engage as a collaborative partner in exploring your goals and possible approaches to reaching them. I am very interested in how we are shaped by our relationships to others and would be happy to explore ideas about those impacts with you.
Before continuing in higher Ed, I spent 10 years in community mental health working with transitioning youth, birthing families, as well as individuals in acute crisis. I also served as adjunct faculty at Castleton University within their Social Work department. I am a certified international trainer in the practice of Open Dialogue through the University of Jyväsklä-Jyväsklylän ylipisto and I continue to support the VT state initiatives and research towards Collaborative Network Approach.
