Nicole Grubman, LCMHC (Founding member)

I am the founder and clinical director of the Hinesburg Counseling Collaborative (HCC), where my work is split between providing psychotherapy and EMDR treatment, and supporting the growth and development of clinicians through supervision, mentorship, and sustainable supervised billing practices.

I have over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and human services and have worked across outpatient counseling, crisis intervention, community mental health, and program leadership. My clinical background includes extensive training in behavioral and humanistic approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness-based interventions, and EMDR therapy.

In my clinical work, I help clients better understand the emotional roots of their struggles while building greater self-compassion, resilience, authenticity, and connection in their lives and relationships. I have a particular interest in working with trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, and experiences that continue to feel emotionally “stuck” despite insight and personal growth.

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that healing happens within safe, genuine, and collaborative relationships. I strive to create a counseling environment where clients feel deeply seen, emotionally supported, and empowered to reconnect with their strengths, values, and capacity for meaningful change.

Alongside my clinical work, I remain deeply committed to building accessible, relational, community-based mental health care in Vermont and to helping newer clinicians develop confidence, authenticity, and sustainability in their work.

I am also a mother of 2 school-aged daughters, an avid walker and dancer, nature lover, and free-spirited adventurer of both the inner and outer landscape.
