Nicole Grubman, LCMHC (Founding member)
Hello. I have over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and human services. I am a licensed mental health counselor, clinical supervisor, certified Kripalu yoga teacher, and adjunct counseling professor. I have extensive training in Solution Focused and Behavioral Approaches (CBT, DBT, and ACT) and have completed my basic training in EMDR Therapy. I am a mother of two young children and an avid adventurer of the inner and outer landscape. All of my work is strongly grounded in the humanistic, person-centered tradition.
I feel that most distress is rooted in a personal sense of helplessness often stemming from experiences when a person was unable to find safety, predictability, and support.
With that said, my role as your counselor is to:
- To create a safe and nurturing environment
- To invite a deeper level of inquiry
- To model authenticity and emotional risk taking
- To increase your readiness to change
- To facilitate clear and realistic goal setting
- To highlight your personal strengths and natural resiliency
- To work collaboratively on identifying and addressing the ‘stuff’ that keeps you stuck.
- To help you remember that you have a choice and that you matter!
I look forward to our journey together.
