Christiane Herskowitz, PT, CST

I have been a practicing Therapist for over 30 years, graduating from the Physical Therapy Program in Munich, Germany. As a registered Physical Therapist in Vermont since 1992, I continually expand my skills to provide a holistic trauma-informed approach to healing.

Recently, I completed "The Biology of Trauma" professional 1 year certification program and a certification on somatic developmental Trauma Therapy, which deepened my understanding of how trauma affects our body. This included principles of somatic experiencing by Dr. Peter Levine, The Polyvagal Theory by Dr. Porges, visualization, and mindfulness based resources.

I attune each session to the unique needs of my clients, offering support, both in person and via zoom. My in person practice integrates CranioSacral Therapy, with its Somato Emotional Release component, Somatic Work, and Visceral Manipulation. I also completed extensive training at the Chikly Institute, studying The Brain technique protocol with Dr. Bruno Chikly and Heart Centered Therapy, a therapeutic dialogue technique, with his wife Alaya Chikly, with whom I now serve as a teacher assistant.

I help clients process emotions, connect with their inner healing capacity and support their journey towards wellbeing. Outside of my practice , I find balance and joy in nature, especially around water, Latin dance and spending time with my two adult children, as I watch their journeys unfold.
