Elizabeth Aliberti, LCMHC
My name is Elizabeth Aliberti, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and board-certified art therapist providing counseling services to adults and teens 15+ in Hinesburg, Vermont. I love partnering with people to discover strengths, uniqueness and resilience on their journey of self-discovery. I am inspired by those willing to reach out for support and challenge themselves to reach their goals. I believe every individual is doing the best they can, however, sometimes past experiences, relationships and other challenges affect our ability to live the life we are seeking. In my practice, I work to provide education and tools to reduce suffering and empower people in an environment of acceptance and non-judgement. I believe a strong therapeutic partnership can give people the courage and space to begin to make changes in their life.
I like to use a strengths-based, person centered approach with interventions gleaned from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Attachment Theory. I have a transparent and relaxed style because I feel strongly that building therapeutic trust and rapport is a two-way street and key to successful counseling. When appropriate, I also like to use the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. Art Therapy is based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and achieve insight. We can talk about whether art therapy is something you might be interested in.
I have over 12 years of experience in mental health, art therapy and counseling. I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicaid, Medicare, MVP, United and Martin’s Point Health Insurance. I am also licensed to practice Telehealth in Florida to maintain consistency for my snow birding clients. Because I have two young children, my hours are limited to daytime. My family moved to Hinesburg in 2022 from Oregon and we are getting established in Vermont. I love the outdoors, art, knitting and gardening. I’m looking forward to connecting with you!
